Adding a new storage source
Once you sign in to the EdgeRover™ mobile app, you're directed to add your first storage source. This is the source you'll use by default when you open the app.
Note: If you have an Android device, enable Location services on your mobile phone. Without it, we won’t be able to find and connect to your device.
To add a new storage source, follow these steps:
- From the Home tab, tap Sources near the top.
- Tap Add a device.
- Tap the source you want to connect to, then tap OK, and depending on your device, one of three things happens:
- Bluetooth automatically tries to connect to your device.
- EdgeRover asks you to ensure your Source device is:
- Connected to power
- Connected to your home network by using an Ethernet cable (wired) or Wi-Fi (wireless) and Bluetooth
- Where the LED indicator is on and solid
- EdgeRover asks how you want to connect to your device. You can choose Wired (Ethernet) or Wireless (Wi-Fi).
- EdgeRover onboards the device and you can now select it as your current device from the list.
If the mobile app can find your source, you can start collecting, organizing, or sharing your content with others. If not, return to step 3 or tap Customer Support or Troubleshooting.
