Device settings

EdgeRover™ provides many settings so you can personalize and understand how your device is working. To access your device settings, go to the Me tab and tap Sources, then tap the chosen device card.

Depending on the device you have, there are commonalities and differences in the settings available to you. The SanDisk® ibi™, My Cloud™, and My Cloud™ Home devices have the following settings listed:

Setting Device
Device name: You can rename your device any time. We recommend you choose terms that help you quickly identify your device. ibi, MC, MCH
Storage type: The type of storage device in use. MC, MCH
Space available: The amount of free space available out of the total amount. ibi, MC, MCH
Network: When you switch networks, make sure you’re next to your device. If connection issues occur, you can try again or choose Contact Support. Other network settings:
  • Signal strength: The status of the connection.
  • Troubleshooting: A series of steps to improve the connection between your device and router.
  • Advanced information: Lists the SSID, Frequency, Signal strength, RSSI, Refresh, and a link for Advanced troubleshooting.

Connection type: The type of connection your device uses, which include Direct, Relay, and Local. ibi, MC, MCH
Users: Shows the owners and users, the amount of storage in use, and the invites sent. You can tap on the owner and users to see more details. When a user is removed, they lose access to the device and all of their content is deleted. ibi, MCH
Configure device: When you tap Open , your browser opens to the Admin portal. This is only available if you’re on the same local network as your device.
Device configuration: You can choose between two supported storage modes, either Full Capacity Mode (JBOD) or Mirror Mode (RAID1). MCH
Analytics: Set this toggle on or off. EdgeRover collects diagnostic and user info to bring you a personalized experience based on your activity. ibi
Serial number: A unique identifier assigned to your device. ibi
Software, Firmware, and API versions: The numeric identifiers downloaded on your device are listed. ibi, MC, MCH
Register your product: When you tap Open , your browser opens to the product registration page of your device. ibi, MC, MCH
Reboot: Tapping this setting restarts your device. Make sure you save anything you’re working on. ibi, MC, MCH
Configure device & users: Shows owners and users, plus the amount of storage in use and the invites sent. You can tap on the owner and users to see more details and remove users. MC
Erase all data: When you choose to erase all data, a confirmation screen appears and you need to enter a code to confirm your action. You can’t undo this action. ibi, MCH
Shut down: There isn’t a power button. To power on your device, you need to unplug it and then plug it back in. ibi, MC, MCH
