Automatic Search Collections

EdgeRover™ has two ways of automatically organizing your files: Tag Collections and Location Collections. These Collections enable EdgeRover to optimize the way you search for your content.

Tag Collections

Tag Collections are automatically organized based on the tags associated with your content. The app analyzes your images to find objects within them to generate tags. For example, in the Search tab, EdgeRover automatically generates Collections for you to browse, such as the "For You" grouping.

To view your Tag Collections, tap the Search tab. Tag Collections are listed in the "For you" grouping.

Here are a few points to keep in mind:

  • Automatically-generated tags can be incorrect. You might find objects mis-categorized, but we’re working to improve this function.
  • Currently, you can’t override or remove automatically-generated tags.
  • Images often contain multiple tags, so the same image might appear in multiple Collections.

Location Collections

Location Collections are groups of files based on the geographical location information in the files. This information is present in photos taken on smartphones with Location Services enabled and with certain types of cameras. When you open a photo and click More info > Show more, you’ll find the latitude and longitude information. The Collection is usually grouped at the level of a city, but sometimes it can be created for a district or landmark.

Note: Collections aren't created for states, regions, or countries. However, you can search for them. For example, searching for “United States” or “California” returns photos taken in San Francisco.

To view your Location Collections, tap the Search tab. Location collections are listed in the Places grouping.
